Background
Let’s Make home the Goal!
At the HUD House Party, attendees will take advantage of the numerous federal and local level resources available to make home ownership a reality, all at a one-stop-shop!
This event is open to all and is an especially advantageous opportunity for young adults who may feel the barriers to home ownership too steep. The HUD-approved Housing Counselors are a great place to start to learn the basics and bust common myths about the homebuying process.
Attendees will leave feeling inspired, empowered, and armed with the information and resources they need to make homeownership a reality, all while having a fun-filled festival day in the park!
Resource EXPO
Visit the Congressional Room in The Plaza Hotel to get information and in person contact from a wide variety of housing resource providers.
Info Sessions
Visit the Senate Room for information sessions to get info and questions answered about how to prepare for buying a house, the purchasing process, and maintaining your newly owned home.
Family fun festival
Work hard, play hard! Outside at the Columbus Commons will be fun activities for everyone including food trucks, music, and other festival features.

“I want everyone in this country who desires to own a home to have access to the resources they need. Housing counseling is a way we can bridge the knowledge gap that keeps many well-qualified households from seeking homeownership.”
